Jewelry Collection

I created a collection of “industry + magic” themed jewelry and sold it at a school market.

Every piece is made from scrap metal and salvaged junk except the hooks on the earrings.

The palette I chose was copper, wood, steel, and glass.

Copper Earrings

I made 6 copper earrings out of metal I found in the scrap bin at my shop. I tried to preserve the original shapes I found in the scraps as much as possible. I bent and soldered the jump rings out of scrap wire.

Glass Earrings

I made 4 pairs of earrings out of recycled bike chain and glass from a plate I accidentally broke.

Mousetrap Earrings

I made 4 pairs of these earrings out of copper and birch wood. They aren’t functional mousetraps

Crystal Earrings

I created these earrings out of two quartz crystals and a recycled laptop hinge. I connected them together with copper tubing.

Aperture Pendant

I created a pendant out of a broken camera aperture. The aperture mechanism itself can still be opened and closed. I attached a piece of scrap copper with a bright patina behind the glass.

Bike Chain Bracelet

I created 4 bracelets out of recycled bike chain. They can connect together to form a choker. Despite their simple appearance these were the hardest items in my collection to make.
